About this event

The Melbourne Open Water Swimming Cup is a season-opening event for Victoria’s open water swimming calendar, held at Williamstown Beach on Melbourne Cup Day.

Swimmers can choose from 800m, 1600m, 2400m and 3200m courses, with a Superfish option also available. The event is designed for a range of abilities, from swimmers seeking a shorter challenge to experienced participants looking for a longer bay swim.

The course is well marked and includes a feeding station, while the beachside setting provides a convenient and accessible starting point close to the water. The event is capped at 200 swimmers, so early entry is recommended.
