About this event

New for 2027, the New U Run is a community running event held at Speers Point Park on Saturday, 6 February, as part of the Lake Macquarie Triathlon Festival weekend.

Participants can choose from three run distances: 2km, 5km or 10km. The event is designed to welcome a broad range of participants, from juniors and first-time runners to experienced athletes, making it a fitting introduction to the festival’s weekend of multisport and running activities.

The run coincides with the festival’s Saturday Sports Expo, creating a lively curtain-raiser before the main triathlon and aquathlon events take place on Sunday. Set beside Lake Macquarie, the festival precinct offers a scenic setting for an active day out and an opportunity to experience the event atmosphere without entering a triathlon.
