About this event

The Oceana North Bondi Swim Classic is a popular Sydney ocean-swimming event held at North Bondi Beach, where Ben Buckler and the northern headland provide a naturally sheltered setting. With a lively carnival atmosphere and two distances to choose from, it welcomes both newer swimmers and experienced open-water competitors.

1km swim: A single-loop course starting from the beach and heading towards Ben Buckler before turning south and returning to shore. The event listing recommends this distance for newer ocean swimmers and participants aged 10 and over.
2km swim: A single-loop course around Bondi Bay, beginning near North Bondi Surf Club and heading out through the break towards Ben Buckler. This distance is listed for swimmers aged 12 and over.
