About this event

The Poatina Challenge is a handicap road race returning to the 2026 Tasmanian cycling calendar on Saturday, 31 October. Racing begins from Poatina Village, with categories available from Under 13s through to senior grades.

Under 17 men and women will compete in the senior grades. The event is presented by Launceston City Cycling Club with support from Midland Tractors and Chartley Estate Wines.

Sign-on is scheduled for 12 noon on the grassed area outside The Tiers Tea Lounge in Poatina Village. The course maps and detailed racing information will be provided in the event technical guide.

Entry fees are listed as $15 for Under 13 and Under 15 riders, and $30 for Under 17 and senior riders. Entries are scheduled to close at 6pm on Thursday, 29 October 2026, subject to event conditions.

Junior riders may be permitted to race in an appropriate age grade under the applicable Juniors Riding Up policy, with age-restricted gearing requirements.
