About this event
Run Melbourne returns to Melbourne on Sunday, 18 July 2027, offering runners the chance to take part in a major city road-running event with courses that showcase some of the city’s most recognisable landmarks.
Participants can choose from three race distances:
- ASICS Half Marathon: A 21.1-kilometre course beginning on Batman Avenue and finishing at Melbourne Park.
- La Roche-Posay 10K: A 10-kilometre city course starting at 9.30am on Batman Avenue and finishing at Melbourne Park.
- 5.5K: A shorter distance designed for participants seeking an accessible community running experience.
The 10K route travels along Flinders Street, past Federation Square and Flinders Street Station, before continuing down St Kilda Road. Runners pass the Shrine of Remembrance and Government House, follow Alexandra Avenue beside the Yarra River and return through Birrarung Marr before crossing the finish line at Melbourne Park.
Race-day facilities include electronic timing and results, live tracking, on-course aid stations, entertainment, a finish-line refreshment area, a finisher medal and a finisher certificate. The event village opens from 5.30am, with the half marathon scheduled to start at 6.30am and the 10K beginning at 9.30am. The finish line closes at 12.30pm.
Age requirements apply to each distance. Half-marathon entrants must be at least 16 years old on race day. Entrants in the 10K must be at least 12, while children under 12 must run with an entered guardian. Entrants in the 5.5K must be at least eight, with children under eight required to participate with an entered guardian.
Run Melbourne combines competitive racing, recreational running and fundraising in a lively Melbourne setting, making it suitable for experienced runners, families and participants taking on a personal challenge.
