About this event
Run Melbourne gives participants the opportunity to experience Melbourne on foot while supporting charitable causes through fundraising. The 2027 event takes place on Sunday, 18 July, with the event village opening early at Melbourne Park.
Participants can choose from several distances, including the AIMS-certified 21.1-kilometre half marathon, 10-kilometre and 5.5-kilometre events, plus a Kids Dash. The half marathon begins on Batman Avenue and finishes at Melbourne Park, taking runners through the city, Fitzroy Gardens, along the Yarra River, through Docklands and across Webb Bridge before returning via South Wharf and Alexandra Gardens.
Event inclusions vary by distance but include electronic timing and results, live tracking, aid stations, on-course entertainment, finish-line refreshments and a finisher medal. All courses except the Kids Dash are certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races and measured to World Athletics standards.
Charity fundraising is a central part of the event. Participants can nominate a chosen charity and apply to become a Charity Superstar, with fundraising milestones offering additional benefits, including waived registration fees for eligible participants.
