About this event
Ride through Launceston and the Tamar Valley while supporting youth mental health in Tasmania. Sally's Ride returns on Sunday 22 November 2026, bringing together families, recreational cyclists and experienced riders for four distances. The volunteer-run event directs all ride registration fees towards mental health and youth services in Northern Tasmania.
Four Ways to Ride
- 10km Family Ride: a shorter option for families and people beginning recreational cycling. The organiser describes a route mainly using shared pathways and quiet residential streets, guided by the Tasmanian Bicycle Users Group.
- 50km Challenge: a shorter challenge for experienced cyclists, travelling through the West Tamar region via Legana, Bridgenorth and Glengarry before returning via Rosevears.
- 70km Challenge: a longer ride through rural Tamar Valley scenery, heading through Glengarry towards Exeter and returning alongside the river past Rosevears.
- 100km Sally's Ride: the longest option, aimed at experienced riders seeking an endurance challenge. The route takes in the Tamar Valley and Beaconsfield before returning along the western side of the river.
E-bikes are welcome on every ride. Choose a distance that matches your experience and fitness, and check the event's entry conditions before registering.
A Shared Start and Finish
All four rides begin and end at Launceston Rugby Union Club. Families can also enjoy the Kids Zone, with face painting, games and bike-friendly activities for young riders. Children still require parental supervision.
