Shellharbour Ocean Swim is a scenic open-water swimming event held along the picturesque coastline of Shellharbour, New South Wales. The event is scheduled for Saturday, 17 April 2027, with swimmers taking in coastal views and a reef-rich marine environment.
The program includes three distances designed for different abilities:
- 400m swim: A short course held entirely at Shellharbour’s main beach, suitable for junior swimmers and those seeking an accessible introduction to ocean swimming.
- 1.2km swim: A point-to-point course beginning at Shellharbour Boat Harbour, passing through the harbour entrance and around Cowries Headland before continuing along the coastline past Cunji Rock Platform to the finish at North Shellharbour Beach.
- 2km swim: A longer point-to-point course following the same scenic coastal route, with an additional northern loop before finishing in front of the surf club at North Shellharbour Beach.
The longer swims start at Shellharbour Boat Harbour and finish near the Shellharbour Surf Life Saving Club, while the junior distance remains at the main beach. With multiple course options, the event welcomes both developing ocean swimmers and experienced participants looking for a rewarding coastal challenge.
