About this event
South Coast Cycling’s Wednesday Night Training offers mixed junior and senior track cycling at Edwardstown Velodrome, with riders grouped according to ability and fitness. The session has a strong skills focus, helping participants build confidence and develop safe, effective velodrome-riding techniques.
Warm-up begins from 5:30pm. Participants must register through the club’s event-entry system and check in with the track volunteer or coach before riding. An Australian-standard helmet is compulsory, while gloves are strongly recommended and shoulders must remain covered on the track.
Riders should bring cycling shoes and pedals if available. Enclosed shoes can be worn, with flat pedals available for riders using club loan bikes. Loan bikes are available subject to availability; club members can use them at no charge, while non-members may be charged a $5 session fee.
Riders should arrive early to allow time to set up equipment. Coaching staff determine when riders are ready to progress between training groups, and private training is not permitted during the session. Parents and spectators must remain outside the track fence unless invited by the coaching team to assist.
Suitable for riders developing their track skills in a structured, supervised environment, the session supports safe riding, progressive learning and participation across junior and senior ability levels.
