About this event
The South Melbourne Port to Park Swim is a summer open-water swimming event along Melbourne’s bay beaches, connecting Port Melbourne with Albert Park. The point-to-point course runs from Lagoon Pier to Kerferd Pier, offering swimmers a scenic route close to shore while spectators can follow the action from the beach or watch from either pier.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, 13 February 2027, in Port Melbourne, Victoria. It is organised by South Melbourne Life Saving Club and supports the club’s lifesaving services, patrols and community programs.
Swimmers can choose from several distances designed for different ages, abilities and experience levels:
- 250m kids swim: A short beach-based swim intended for younger participants.
- 500m swim: A family-friendly distance suited to newer open-water swimmers.
- 1.1km swim: The signature point-to-point course from Lagoon Pier to Kerferd Pier.
- 2.2km swim: A longer challenge using a double-distance course in the bay.
The event is designed to be welcoming to families, first-time open-water swimmers and experienced participants alike. The courses use clearly marked buoys, with a floating start and a sand-run finish. Friends and family can walk along the shoreline to follow the swim and gather near the start or finish areas.
Event details, including course arrangements and registration information, should be checked with the organiser before attending, as some arrangements may be subject to confirmation.
