The Terrigal Ocean Swim Classic is a friendly, scenic open-water swimming event at Terrigal Beach on Saturday, 27 March 2027. Set against one of the Central Coast’s most recognisable beach landscapes, the event combines a welcoming surf-club atmosphere with clearly marked courses for swimmers of different ages and abilities.
Participants can choose from three distances:
- 400m Daffodil Dip: A relaxed loop around the Goldie daffodil buoy, suited to swimmers, dippers and paddlers looking for a fun introduction to the event.
- 1km Ocean Swim: A junior and novice-friendly course around the buoys, offering an achievable step into ocean swimming.
- 2km Ocean Swim: A looped course off Terrigal Beach with clear buoy markers and on-water support, ideal for swimmers seeking a longer challenge or a chance to settle into a steady rhythm.
The 1km and 2km swims are open to participants aged 10 and over. The event schedule includes registration from 7.00am, the 1km swim at 9.00am, the 2km swim at 10.00am and the 400m Daffodil Dip at 11.00am.
With a protected beach setting, strong lifesaving support and plenty of space for spectators, the Terrigal Ocean Swim Classic offers an enjoyable race-day experience for first-time ocean swimmers, juniors, families, swimming groups and experienced competitors alike. Participants can swim for a personal goal, enjoy the coastal scenery or simply take part in a relaxed community event by the water.
All proceeds support charity, with funds directed to Terrigal Surf Life Saving Club or Cancer Council. Whether choosing the short dip or taking on the full 2km course, swimmers can finish the event knowing their participation helps support important community and cancer-support initiatives.
