About this event
Terrigal Swim Fest is a new World Series Swims festival celebrating open-water swimming on the Central Coast of New South Wales. The weekend combines coached ocean-swimming sessions, competitive racing, social activities and community events in and around Terrigal.
The programme begins with small-group open-water clinics led by elite coaches and athletes, including Olympic champion Michael Klim. These sessions offer swimmers the chance to build confidence, refine technique and gain practical advice in an open-water setting.
The main swim day features ocean races for a wide range of abilities, from the 300m Junior Giants event through to a 5km challenge. The festival also introduces the Knockout Sprint Relay, a fast-paced team format that adds a new competitive element to the weekend. The event welcomes first-time ocean swimmers, experienced competitors and high-level athletes.
Races start at Terrigal Haven and finish in front of Terrigal Surf Life Saving Club. Alongside the swimming programme, the festival includes live entertainment, social events and free community activities for swimmers, families and support crews.
Terrigal Swim Fest is separate from the long-running Terrigal Ocean Swim Classic. The supplied event date is Friday 5 March 2027; the official festival listing currently identifies the 2027 edition as a date to be confirmed, so programme dates and session times should be checked before attending.
