The Sydney Skinny is an untimed open-water swim held at secluded Cobblers Beach in Sydney Harbour. The swim is clothing-optional, while the festival atmosphere on the beach remains fully clothed, creating a relaxed and inclusive setting for participants and supporters.
Participants can choose between approximately 300-metre and 900-metre swim courses, making the event suitable for a range of swimming abilities. The swim is not a race, so there are no finishing times or competitive placings; the focus is on participation, courage, body acceptance and shared enjoyment.
Cobblers Beach is a legally designated nudist beach within Sydney Harbour National Park and is non-spectator, helping preserve the event’s private and respectful atmosphere. The swim itself is the only clothing-optional component of the event. Sarongs are provided to participants after they leave the water.
