The Track Outback Race on Saturday, August 1, 2026, is a self-supported footrace covering 520 km over 9 stages between Alice Springs and Uluru, Northern Territory, Australia.
Competitors must carry a backpack containing all compulsory equipment, food, and personal supplies. Participants navigate the marked route using a road book provided by the organizers, with checkpoints at regular intervals. Each night, the event provides a bivouac for rest, supported by on-site technical and medical teams.
The race's first half traverses the scenic West MacDonnell National Park, while the second half descends toward the Uluru / Kata Tjuta National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Runners experience the vast Australian Outback landscape, ending near Uluru, the worldโs largest monolith and a cultural icon.
