About this event
The Tilbury Classic is a scenic 1.9-kilometre point-to-point ocean swim at Culburra Beach on the New South Wales South Coast. Starting from sheltered Tilbury Cove, swimmers follow the coastline around the striking Penguin Head before finishing at Warrain Beach in front of the local surf life saving club.
The course combines open-water swimming with spectacular coastal scenery, taking participants across reef and through clear waters known for their abundant marine life. Swimmers should be confident in open water and capable of completing approximately two kilometres, including entering and exiting through the surf.
A mandatory pre-swim briefing is held before the event, with final course information provided on the day. The event is suitable for participants aged 13 and over, subject to the organiser’s conditions and safety requirements.
The Tilbury Classic supports the volunteer lifesaving services of the local surf life saving club, helping fund the people, equipment and activities that contribute to beach safety in the community.
