Wagga 5000 is an evening track-running event featuring multiple 5000-metre races at Bill Jacob Athletics Centre in Wagga Wagga on Saturday, 7 November 2026.
Runners complete 12.5 laps of the athletics track and select a race based on their goal time. Pace groups and pacers help participants settle into a suitable rhythm while racing alongside others of similar ability. The event welcomes all ages, abilities and experience levels, from first-time runners to experienced athletes.
Races are planned across a range of target times, from approximately 45–55 minutes through to sub-17 minutes. The draft programme runs from the afternoon into the evening, with event times subject to change and the final schedule expected to be released about one week before race day.
More than a running race, Wagga 5000 is planned as a festival-style evening with local food, music, children’s entertainment and a lively community atmosphere for runners and supporters.
