Wangaratta Marathon & Fun Runs returns on Sunday, 14 March 2027, with events starting and finishing at the Wangaratta Showgrounds. Participants can choose from a full marathon, half marathon, 10 km, 5 km or a 2 km Primary Schools’ Fun Run.
The courses follow picturesque bike paths beside the Ovens River, combining sealed surfaces with sections of gravel. The routes are generally flat to slightly undulating, with twisting sections and multiple bridge and creek crossings rather than steep hills, making the event suitable for a range of running abilities.
All events are electronically timed, allowing participants to record an official finishing time. The event also supports local community groups through fundraising, while every primary school finisher receives a commemorative medal.
