Royal Brighton Yacht Club is one of Australia's premier yacht clubs, offering an extensive sailing program for all ages and abilities. Whether you're new to sailing or an experienced racer, RBYC provides diverse participation opportunities year-round.
Training and Learn to Sail:
- Children's learn to sail programs for ages 6 and upwards, taught in a fun and safe environment
- Adult learn to sail courses for ages 18+, available on both small and large boats
- Private coaching and tailored courses for all skill levels from complete beginners to advanced sailors
- Group courses and private coaching sessions available throughout the year
Racing and Competition:
- Keelboat racing on Saturdays, Wednesday afternoons, and Wednesday Twilights
- Off-the-beach racing on Thursdays and Saturdays for junior and youth sailors
- Sunday junior and youth instructed training sessions followed by dinghy racing
- Adult off-the-beach racing on Sundays
- One design fleet racing including VX Ones, 2.4mR, Dragons, and Etchells
Social Sailing and Cruising:
- Social sailing opportunities throughout the week
- Regular Bass Strait cruising organized by the Cruising Group
- Wednesday social sailing events welcoming new sailors and casual yacht entries
