About this event
Australia’s leading endurance riders will pair up at the DISC Velodrome in Thornbury to contest the 2026 national madison titles, one of track cycling’s fastest and most tactical team events.
Held on Saturday, 19 December 2026, the championship will showcase elite men’s and women’s racing, with teams relying on precise exchanges, coordinated tactics and split-second decision-making to maintain momentum throughout the race. Riders compete in pairs, taking turns in the action while working together to accumulate points and complete the required distance.
The event forms part of AusCycling’s 2026–27 track calendar and follows the national omnium championships during Austral week at the Darebin International Sports Centre. Entries are scheduled to open in September, and AusCycling race membership is required for competitors.
