Please join our lovely group of walkers as we walk from Baldrys crossing circuit, Main Ridge through Lightwood Creek in Greens Bush
Come and join our delightful group of hikers as we trek through the stunning Lightwood Creek in Greens Bush, via the Baldrys crossing circuit in Main Ridge. This scenic hike covers a portion of the famous Two Bays walking track and offers a breathtaking view of the Mornington Peninsula. Get ready to be amazed by the remarkable natural scenery!
Please note that the trail comprises some uphill sections, loose gravel, stones, and uneven terrain. We plan to cover approximately 10km during this hike, with a brisk pace ranging from 10-13 minutes per kilometres. It is important to ensure that you are well-rested and hydrated before embarking on this adventure.
This hike is a relatively new addition to Walk Mornington Peninsula's itinerary, making it an excellent opportunity for both regulars and newcomers to the group to explore and appreciate the beauty of this trail. We cannot wait to share this incredible experience with you!
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE WALK:
- Sandy patches of ground
- Some inclines
- Walking on sand
- Possible steps and stairs
- Uneven ground with exposed root stumps
- Trip hazards are present
- Toilet at the halfway mark
- Exceptional views
- Great people
- Improved fitness
- 2.5 hour walking time
- 10-13 minute kilometres
WHAT TO BRING:
- Water
- Snack. Ie: Banana, high protein snack, Jam sandwich.
- Electrolyte energy drink
- Insect repellant
- Medication if you take any
- Hat and sunscreen
WHAT TO WEAR:
- A good pair of walking shoes is necessary, which could be hiking shoes or boots. It is recommended to avoid jogging runners as they may not provide enough grip, although it is not a strict requirement.
- Decent socks. Ie: a mix of wool, nylon & elastane. Non bulky (Visit hiking stores)
- Compact lightweight jacket - optional
- Backpack to carry drink bottle and snacks
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
This walk is NOT suitable for children, babies in carriers or for people who do not walk more than 5km’s at a time. This is a National Park, therefore no dogs or animals allowed.
