About this event

The Balmoral Swim is a long-running open water swimming event held at Balmoral Beach, Mosman, in the sheltered waters of Sydney Harbour. It is run as a fundraising swim supporting Children’s Cancer Institute, and the event is designed to suit a wide range of swimmers, from recreational entrants to more experienced open water participants.

For the 2027 edition, the event is scheduled for Sunday 4 April 2027. The swim has previously been staged as a one-day community event, with multiple swim distances and relay-style options featured in recent years, along with accessibility measures to make beach access easier for more participants.

Set in the calm harbour environment of Balmoral, the event combines a friendly summer-sport atmosphere with a strong charitable purpose. It is a popular fixture on Sydney’s open water swimming calendar and has raised substantial funds for childhood cancer research over its history.
