About this event
The Beach 2 Beach Swim is a scenic ocean swimming event between Blackmans Bay and Kingston Beach in southern Tasmania, offering a memorable point-to-point course along the coast. Swimmers pass rugged cliffs, golden beaches and underwater kelp forests while taking on one of the Tasmanian Ocean Swim Series’ signature swims.
Held on Saturday, 3 April 2027, the event offers two distances to suit different levels of experience and ambition:
- Beach2Beach: A 2.6-kilometre ocean swim from Blackmans Bay to Kingston Beach. Participants must be aged 12 or over.
- Kingston 5: A 5-kilometre challenge combining the Beach2Beach course with an additional 2.4-kilometre loop along Kingston Beach. Participants must be aged 12 or over.
Course conditions and the exact swimming line may vary, adding to the character of this open-water challenge. Whether choosing the shorter point-to-point swim or extending the day with the Kingston 5, participants can expect a rewarding coastal experience shaped by Tasmania’s changing sea and weather.
The event welcomes ocean swimmers from across Tasmania and beyond, with a friendly atmosphere that places participation and enjoyment alongside personal achievement. It is suitable for experienced swimmers seeking a picturesque seasonal challenge as well as confident newcomers ready to experience a supported ocean event.
With its combination of natural scenery, varied distances and relaxed community spirit, the Beach 2 Beach Swim offers a distinctive way to enjoy Kingston’s coastline and forms part of the Tasmanian Ocean Swim Series.
