About this event
Bogong to Hotham is a challenging high-country trail race through Victoria’s alpine terrain, taking runners from Mountain Creek Campground near Mount Beauty to the summit of Mount Hotham.
The full 64km course begins with a climb of Victoria’s highest mountain, Mount Bogong, before descending T-Spur to Big River. Runners then tackle Duane’s Spur to reach the Bogong High Plains, pass through the main aid station at Langford Gap and continue across the alpine plateau. The route descends towards the Cobungra River before climbing Swindler’s Spur and finishing at the Mount Hotham summit.
Three course options are available:
- 64km: the complete Bogong to Hotham course.
- 35km: the first 35km of the full course, from Mountain Creek to Langford Gap.
- 29km: the final 29km of the full course, from Langford Gap to the Mount Hotham summit.
With steep climbs, extended alpine trails and remote high-country conditions, the event is suited to experienced trail runners as well as participants seeking an introduction to alpine trail running through the shorter course.
Bogong to Hotham will be held on Saturday, 16 January 2027, in the Mount Beauty area of Victoria.
