About this event
The Bruny Island Ultra Marathon is a point-to-point running event across Tasmania’s Bruny Island, held on Saturday, 28 November 2026. Starting at Dennes Point, participants can take on the full 64-kilometre ultra-marathon to the Cape Bruny Lighthouse, either as an individual or as part of a relay team of up to 10 people.
A 42.2-kilometre marathon is also available, beginning at Dennes Point and finishing at the Bruny Hotel Pub. Both courses combine sealed and dirt roads, with the ultra-marathon divided into approximately 2-kilometre relay sections. Relay changeovers must take place at designated points, with relay legs set in 2-kilometre increments.
The ultra-marathon starts at 4am and has a 2.30pm course cut-off. Marathon runners start at either 8.30am for solo entries or 9am for relay teams, with no stated cut-off time. Support crews are permitted for both distances.
Designed as a family-friendly event, the race welcomes participants of different ages and abilities, with solo and relay entry options available across both distances.
