About this event

Set in the historic village of Carcoar in the NSW Central West, the Carcoar Cup Running Festival combines challenging racing with country hospitality and community spirit. The event offers a scenic 6 kilometre run through to the full marathon, providing options for a range of abilities.

The festival is also known for its marathon, promoted as one of Australia’s most scenic, and has previously included a kids’ 1.8 kilometre event and marathon participation in solo or team formats. Runners, spectators and volunteers come together throughout the village to create a welcoming regional event atmosphere.

The Carcoar Cup has received recognition as a NSW Regional Flagship Event and was named Community Event of the Year in 2011. The 2026 festival will be held on Sunday, 8 November, in Carcoar.
