The Heysen Trail Ultra is a major South Australian trail running event held over the weekend of 24 to 25 October 2026, with race options ranging from 13km through to 115km, plus multi-day formats for those chasing a bigger challenge.
The signature 115km course follows a section of the iconic Heysen Trail from Rocky Creek in Kuitpo to Victor Harbor, showcasing pine forests, open country and bushland along the Fleurieu Peninsula. All distances finish in Victor Harbor, and the event is widely regarded as one of South Australia’s most memorable trail running experiences.
Runners can choose from a variety of formats, including shorter single-day races and longer endurance options that extend the adventure across multiple stages. The event centres on the south coast and the Heysen Trail, giving participants a true taste of South Australian trail running at its best.
