Mackay Track Carnival 2026, also known as the Mackay Track Open, brings a full day of competitive track cycling to the Walkerston Velodrome near Mackay on Saturday, 31 October 2026. Held during Queensland’s track cycling season, the carnival welcomes riders across junior, elite and masters categories.
The programme is designed to test a range of cycling skills, with sprint and endurance racing including wheel races, scratch races and keirins. Racing is expected to feature men’s A, B and C grades, women’s A and B grades subject to rider numbers, and junior categories from under-9 through to under-17.
Sign-on begins at 12.00pm, with the track available for warm-up from 1.00pm. Racing starts at 3.00pm. Riders must hold an eligible AusCycling Club or Race membership, with one-day and seven-day event licences available for eligible participants.
With quality racing and a welcoming club atmosphere, the carnival offers riders of all ages an opportunity to compete against a strong field and experience track cycling in North Queensland.
