About this event

Celebrate the Maribyrnong River at a flotilla and walking parade in Footscray on Sunday 25 October 2026, from 10am to 1pm. Meet outside Footscray Boat Club for a Wurundjeri Welcome to Country and a participation briefing before joining the activity on the river or along the Maribyrnong Trail. The gathering supports a campaign for more water in the creeks that sustain the Maribyrnong.

Join on foot or on the water

Bring your own vessel to join the flotilla.
Walk with the parade around the Maribyrnong Trail in Footscray.
Book separately for a Tramboat seat or a shared paddleboard place.

Participants are encouraged to dress up and bring a flag or banner celebrating the river and its wildlife. A Rotary BBQ follows the flotilla and parade.

Registration

General admission registration for the main event is free and helps the organisers plan attendance and BBQ catering. It does not include a Tramboat seat. Check the separate water-based bookings for availability and any additional cost.
