About this event
The Marysville Marathon Festival is a scenic trail-running event set among the valleys, forests, river corridors and waterfalls of Marysville in Victoria’s Yarra Ranges, at the foot of the Lake Mountain snowfields. Centred at Gallipoli Park, the festival combines challenging mountain-style courses with an inclusive community atmosphere for runners, walkers and families.
The program includes distances to suit a wide range of abilities, from a 4km run or walk and 10km run or walk through to a half marathon, the 42km Neil McKern Marathon and a demanding 50km ultramarathon. The wider festival program also includes junior and longer-distance events across the weekend.
Long-course participants follow forest tracks and mountain terrain featuring several of the region’s waterfalls and lookouts, including Camerons Cascade, Steavenson Falls and Keppel Lookout. Aid stations are provided along the longer courses, with course cut-off requirements applying to the marathon and ultramarathon events.
With accessible options for recreational participants alongside serious endurance challenges, the festival offers a memorable way to experience Marysville’s fresh mountain air, native forest and spectacular natural scenery. The main festival day is Sunday, 8 November 2026, with additional events scheduled across the weekend.
