About this event

The Mount Eliza Swim Classic is a community-focused open-water swimming event celebrating 100 years of the Ranelagh Club. Held at Ranelagh Beach in Mount Eliza, the event combines ocean swimming with a lively summer celebration featuring 1920s-themed festivities, live music, games and refreshments.

Participants can choose between a 1.2km open-water swim or a 400m novice swim. The 1.2km event welcomes individuals and teams, with a particular focus on team participation and prizes for top-performing teams. The 400m course provides a shorter introduction to ocean swimming for novice swimmers and nippers.

With a friendly, festival-style atmosphere, the event is designed for swimmers of varied experience levels. Families, supporters and spectators can enjoy the beachside entertainment while participants take on a scenic course across the bay.

The Mount Eliza Swim Classic begins at 10am on Saturday, 23 January 2027, at the Ranelagh Club in Mount Eliza. It offers a relaxed way to enjoy the water, connect with the local swimming community and celebrate a significant milestone in the club’s history.
