Gloucester Mountain Man Tri Challenge
Event location
Description
The Gloucester Mountain Man Tri Challenge returns on Sunday, 13 September 2026, featuring a unique multisport race comprised of a 22km mountain bike ride, an 11km kayak paddle, and a 9km run.
This distinctive event differs from a traditional triathlon by combining challenging terrain and natural beauty: the mountain bike leg traverses a mix of mountain and 4WD roads, creek beds, cattle tracks, rainforest, and open country through the scenic foothills of Gloucester; the kayak paddle follows the crystal-clear waters of the Barrington River; and the run course winds through paddocks near the northern end of the Bucketts, finishing back at Gloucester No. 1 Oval.
Participants can compete as individuals, in relay teams, or as tandem teams—who must complete each discipline together using a tandem bike and tandem kayak. It is also possible to enter individual legs separately.
Please note: The event originally scheduled for 14 September 2025 has been cancelled; the next opportunity to participate is on 13 September 2026.
