About this event
Murray Rose Malabar Magic is an inclusive ocean swimming event held at sheltered Malabar Beach in February. Named in honour of Australian Olympian Murray Rose, the event is known as a friendly, family-focused swim that welcomes participants of different abilities.
Swimmers can choose from 1 km, 2.5 km and 5 km courses, making the event suitable for a range of experience levels. Individual swimmers can take part alongside club, family and social teams. Participants should be adequately trained, and the 1 km swim is open to swimmers aged 10 and over.
The event also features Rainbow Club activities for children with disability, including an assisted 250 m swim and a 1 km team swim for eligible Rainbow Club participants, supported by family members, teachers or volunteers.
Funds raised support Rainbow Club Australia’s swimming programmes, which help children with disability build water confidence and develop swimming skills through clubs across New South Wales.
