About this event

Nedd's Uncomfortable Challenge invites people across Australia to choose something that pushes them out of their comfort zone and commit to it from 19 to 28 October 2026. Created by Nedd Brockmann, the challenge brings participants together to support We Are Mobilise and Australians experiencing homelessness.

Ten days of your own challenge

Choose an activity that feels uncomfortable for you and do it every day for 10 days. It does not have to be running or even a fitness activity. You might walk further than usual, try an ocean swim, cycle, take on a personal discipline challenge, meditate or read. The point is to choose something genuinely challenging for you. The organiser also offers the option to take on your own Super Day.

Try the 1-2-2

If you would like a ready-made goal, choose one of the organiser's 1-2-2 challenges. The number refers to the 122,000 Australians the organiser says experience homelessness on any given night:

  • Run or walk 12.2 kilometres each day, covering 122 kilometres over 10 days.
  • Complete 122 repetitions of an exercise each day, reaching 1,220 repetitions.
  • Do 122 minutes of exercise each day, reaching 1,220 minutes.

You can also set a different goal that suits your abilities and circumstances. Your challenge should be uncomfortable for you, whether that means trying something new or going further than you have before.

Support for people facing homelessness

The challenge raises funds for We Are Mobilise, which works with charity partners around Australia to help people facing homelessness. Its Direct Giving program can assist with costs such as rent, bond and bills. Fundraising is encouraged, but the organiser says it is not compulsory to take part.

How to join

Registration is free. Create an individual profile or join a team, choose your challenge and, if you wish, set a fundraising target. Participants can sign in to record milestones and share their progress. People under 18 need written consent from a parent or guardian when registering. Choose an activity and pace appropriate for you, then take part wherever you are during the 10-day challenge.

Please mention you found this event via KeepActive when contacting the organiser — thank you for your support!
