About this event
Nepean Triathlon 2026 returns over two action-packed days as part of the Redline Games weekend at the Sydney International Regatta Centre, bringing together junior, sprint, classic and Nepean-distance racing. It is promoted as Australia’s oldest triathlon, with the event first established in 1982 and long associated with the same world-class venue.
The program is designed to suit a wide range of athletes, from kids’ races and a super sprint through to the signature Nepean race and the longer Classic distance. The main race formats include:
- Kids events for younger participants
- Super Sprint racing
- Sprint triathlon
- The iconic Nepean triathlon distance
- Classic distance racing
- Aquabike for athletes who want the swim and bike challenge without the run
The Nepean race retains its traditional format of 1km swim, 30km bike and 8km run, while the Classic distance is a longer challenge at 2km swim, 60km bike and 15km run. The event is set around the lake and transition areas of the Sydney International Regatta Centre, which has been the home of the Nepean Triathlon since 1999.
Race-day scheduling includes separate registration, briefing and presentation sessions across the weekend, with the Sunday program focused on the Classic, Aquabike and Nepean races. With its mix of shorter family-friendly races and longer endurance options, Nepean Triathlon 2026 offers something for first-timers, competitive age-group athletes and experienced triathletes alike.
