About this event
The Nine News Australia Day Jetty to Jetty Swim is a long-standing South Australian open-water swimming tradition held on Australia Day. The event traces its origins to 1917, when the Henley and Grange Swimming Club organised the first swim between the two jetties.
The approximately 2.2-kilometre point-to-point course takes swimmers along the metropolitan coast between Henley Jetty and Grange Beach Jetty. With its ocean setting and historic connection to the local swimming community, the event offers an energetic way to begin Australia Day celebrations.
Swimmers of varied abilities can take part in this iconic coastal challenge, subject to the event’s official entry and safety requirements. The swim forms part of South Australia’s open-water swimming calendar and is regarded as one of the country’s longest-running open-water events.
