About this event

Take the plunge this winter at the Port Fairy Annual Solstice Swim, a bracing open-water event at Port Fairy Surf Life Saving Club on the Eastern Beach. The swim is traditionally held around the winter solstice and welcomes participants ready to embrace the cold in a friendly community setting.

Choose from a 50-metre or 500-metre swim, with the event suited to a range of swimming abilities. A gold-coin donation supports the community event, and swimmers and spectators can warm up afterwards with hot Milo, tea, coffee and bacon-and-egg rolls.

The swim forms part of the Port Fairy Winter Weekends program, an annual celebration of winter in the coastal town. Event details, including the 2027 date and arrangements, should be confirmed with the organisers before attending.
