About this event
The Warrnambool Tony Ryan Memorial Swim is a historic open-water swimming event held in the picturesque waters of Lady Bay. It is recognised as Victoria’s longest-running open-water swim and forms the third event in the Shipwreck Coast Swim Series.
Swimmers can choose between an approximately 500-metre short course and a full course of about 1.2 kilometres. Actual distances may vary with tides and the wading sections at the start and finish.
The swim begins to the west of the Warrnambool Surf Life Saving Club and finishes on the beach beside the clubhouse. The event offers an accessible introduction to open-water swimming as well as a longer challenge for experienced participants.
The 2027 swim is scheduled for Monday 25 January in Warrnambool, Victoria.
