About this event
Run Port Douglas returns to Tropical North Queensland on Saturday 4 September 2027, offering a choice of 2km Run/Walk, 5km, 10km and 21.1km Half Marathon events through the beautiful coastal town of Port Douglas.
Every distance is timed, making the event suitable for runners chasing a personal best as well as participants who prefer to enjoy the scenery, take photographs and share the experience with family and friends. Costumes and a relaxed, festive atmosphere add to the fun, with prizes available for selected categories.
The certified 5km, 10km and Half Marathon courses are designed to showcase Port Douglas and its tropical surroundings. The Half Marathon begins near Mirage Country Club, travels through the town and includes landmarks such as the marina and Flagstaff Hill before reaching the spectacular finish on Four Mile Beach. Participants in every distance complete their event on the sands of the famous beach.
Race starts are scheduled throughout the morning, beginning with the 21.1km Half Marathon at 6.15am, followed by the 10km at 7.30am, the 5km at 8.00am and the 2km Run/Walk at 10.00am. The event is based in Port Douglas, with course starts at several local venues and all finishes taking place on Four Mile Beach.
Whether the goal is a fast finish, a memorable holiday experience or an enjoyable day outdoors, Run Port Douglas combines organised road running with one of Australia’s most distinctive beach finishes.
