About this event
Sprint Series Adventure Race at Lysterfield Park is a 4-hour team adventure race designed for all fitness levels, with courses that combine trail running, mountain biking and kayaking. Teams of two navigate a mix of walking trails, 4WD tracks and mountain bike singletrack, using maps and compass to find checkpoints along the way.
The event offers Classic, Novice and Duathlon options. The Classic and Novice courses include all three disciplines, while the Duathlon removes the kayaking leg and focuses on run and bike stages only. Distances vary by course, with the Novice option shorter and the Classic option longer and more challenging.
Set in Lysterfield Park near Melbourne, the race makes use of the park’s trail network and mountain bike terrain, including the area known for its Commonwealth Games mountain bike track. Kayaks are supplied as part of entry for the full adventure race categories, making it a beginner-friendly way to try adventure racing without needing specialised watercraft.
All teams stay together for the duration of the race, creating a social, supportive format that suits friends, families and first-time competitors as well as more experienced racers. A mountain bike is required for the cycling leg, and the event is built around fun, navigation and teamwork rather than elite performance.
