About this event
Top Dog 24hr Adventure Race is a classic non-stop adventure race in Canberra that challenges teams to navigate an epic course on foot, by mountain bike and by kayak. The event features two options: Top Dog Full, a roughly 120km+ course, and Little Dog Half, which is approximately half the distance and designed for teams wanting a shorter but still demanding challenge.
Teams of 2 or 4 take on the race over 24 hours, with the course revealed only shortly before the start. The race is unsupported and linear, with competitors moving through consecutive legs and transition areas as they progress. While the full course is the main focus, both course options are built around endurance, navigation and teamwork.
The published course details indicate the full route typically includes around 15–25km of trekking, 70–90km of mountain biking and 15–25km of kayaking, while the half course generally includes about 10–15km of trekking, 40–50km of mountain biking and 10–15km of kayaking. The event is based out of the Stromlo mountain bike area in Canberra and finishes back at race headquarters.
This event suits experienced adventure racers and strong mixed-discipline teams looking for a full-day challenge in the Australian Capital Territory.
