About this event
The Shimano 100 — AusCycling MTB National Championships is Australia’s premier mountain bike marathon event, bringing the 2026 AusCycling Mountain Bike Marathon National Championships to Canberra’s Stromlo Forest Park. It runs across Saturday 26 September and Sunday 27 September 2026, with practice, pre-registration and race-day competition scheduled over the weekend.
Riders can choose from three course options: the Challenge 30km event over one lap, the Adventure 60km event over two laps, and the National Championships 90km event over three laps. The championship races are contested on a demanding 30-kilometre circuit that features over 80% singletrack, including Stromlo’s technical climbs and signature trail sections.
The event is open to a wide range of categories, including elite, under 23, junior, expert and masters riders, with national titles awarded across eligible championship classes. Participants in the championship categories must hold a current AusCycling off-road or all-discipline race membership, while the shorter non-championship categories are available to recreational entrants.
Event highlights include:
- Australia’s national mountain bike marathon championships
- Hosted alongside the Shimano 100 event
- Racing at Stromlo Forest Park in Canberra
