About this event
Set in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Trail Run Australia - Sunshine Coast 24hr Festival is a trail running endurance event built around a scenic 5km loop at Ewen Maddock Dam. The 2026 festival runs from midday on Saturday 28 November through to Sunday 29 November, and is designed to welcome everyone from first-time trail runners to experienced ultra athletes.
The headline challenge is the 24 Hour Ultra, where runners complete one 5km lap every hour on the hour. Alongside that, the festival offers 10 Hour, 5 Hour and 5km Fun Run options, with entries available for individuals, pairs, teams and families. The flexible format lets participants run, rest and return to the course, creating an inclusive atmosphere for a wide range of fitness levels and goals.
Race HQ is based at Camp SMEAC, Ewen Maddock Dam, Landsborough. The course features a mix of single track and fire trail, with each lap covering 5.0km and around 99m of elevation gain and loss. The event is known for its friendly community feel, with support crews, spectators and a festival-style setting adding to the experience throughout the weekend.
