About this event
The West End Chiro Strand Swim is round three of the TOWSA Open Water Swim Series, held at Strand Park Beach in Townsville. The course starts and finishes beside Townsville Picnic Bay Surf Life Saving Club, offering swimmers an ocean event in one of the city’s best-known waterfront locations.
The swim may also serve as a qualifier for the Magnetic Island to Townsville Swim, TOWSA’s signature open-water event. That longer swim starts at Picnic Bay on Magnetic Island and finishes near Strand Park, with solo swimmers completing approximately 8 kilometres under the guidance of a paddler.
Qualification requirements and event distances for the 2027 Strand Swim should be confirmed through the organiser before entering, as eligibility criteria may vary between events and can change from year to year.
