About this event

Wreck2Reef is an annual open-water swimming event held in the calm, protected waters of Half Moon Bay at Indented Head on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula. The event is part of the Great Victorian Swim Series, which brings together ocean swims across Victoria while supporting active lifestyles, community participation and beach safety.

Swimmers can choose from a range of events designed for different ages and abilities:

2.5 km Open Water Swim: the main challenge, open to all age groups.
1.2 km Open Water Swim: a shorter course, with entry included for participants also registered in the 2.5 km swim.
800 m Novice Swim: an accessible option for swimmers seeking an introduction to open-water competition.
600 m All Abilities and Social Swim: a welcoming event for all swimmers, including participants with varied abilities.
300 m Dash: a short event for children aged 12 and under, with a cash prize available on completion.

Wreck2Reef takes place on Saturday, 13 February 2027, at Indented Head. Online registration is scheduled to open on 1 December 2026. On-the-day registrations, where available, incur an additional surcharge.
