Activity Details

Armidale Bushwalking Club explores the New England region and beyond through day walks, overnight hikes and occasional multi-day trips. Its year-round programme includes on-track, off-track and urban walks, car camping and monthly bike rides. The club welcomes walkers of different experience levels who want to explore the natural environment and build their knowledge and confidence in the company of others.

New members must complete an introductory walk before joining other walks, then an introductory overnight walk before joining overnight or multi-day trips. Choose activities that match your fitness, experience and equipment. Canoe and other water-based activities are restricted to adults aged 18 and over.

Complete the membership form to join. Membership renews every January.

Members of another affiliated bushwalking club, and friends or family of existing members, can apply for a visitor pass for a one-off day walk, limited to three passes per person each calendar year. Submit the visitor expression-of-interest form through the club website. The walks coordinator will arrange details and the walk leader will assess fitness and experience before confirming a place. Day-walk registration closes 24 hours beforehand; multi-day trips close at least 48 hours beforehand unless the trip details specify otherwise.
