About the club
Echuca Moama Bushwalkers is a community bushwalking club established in 1993 and affiliated with Bushwalking Victoria. It brings people together to explore natural places, with a varied programme catering for all ages and abilities, from novices to experienced walkers.
What to expect
The club usually organises two walks a month, including day walks, base camps, trips with accommodation and overnight hikes. Some trips run for longer periods, and the programme also includes occasional cycling activities. Walk grades range from easy outings on formed tracks to more demanding routes with sustained climbs, rough terrain or scrambling. Choose an activity suited to your fitness, experience and equipment, with participation subject to the leader’s discretion.
Transport is usually arranged through car pooling, with fuel costs shared between participants. Members can draw on advice, track notes and maps; a day pack and two raincoats are available for members or visitors to use.
How to join
Contact the club using the details on this listing to discuss a suitable walk and complete the visitor acknowledgement form. Advise the walk leader as early as possible, allowing at least a week for day walks and longer for overnight or extended trips. Visitors can try up to three walks before joining. The published visitor fee is $5 per walk, or $2 for under-18s; shared transport and trip costs are additional.
After completing two day walks as a visitor in a financial year, you may apply for membership. Confirm current annual membership fees with the club. Newcomers are also welcome at club meetings; confirm arrangements before attending.
