Activity Details
Dragons Abreast Blue Mountains is a dragon boat racing club for breast cancer survivors. We provide a supportive community where members participate in the sport of dragon boat racing as a means of recovery, fitness, and camaraderie.
Training and Racing Opportunities:
- Participate in Dragon Boat New South Wales (DBNSW) annual Regatta Series races held at Sydney International Regatta Centre
- Compete in races ranging from 200m and 500m sprints to longer distance events such as the 8km Bei Loon Newport Challenge
- Race in 10 or 20-person boats depending on crew size and competition format
- Access to the Australian Championship (AusChamps) held at varying venues across Australia each year
Membership and Participation:
- Open to all breast cancer survivors seeking to join a welcoming and inclusive community
- No prior dragon boat racing experience required
- Regatta days feature multiple races throughout the day in a fun and competitive environment with strong team spirit among all competitors
