The Barwon Heads Sailing Association welcomes people of all ages to participate in social sailing, structured learn-to-sail programs, and competitive racing on the Barwon River.
Training & Learning: New sailors can join our comprehensive learn-to-sail programs designed for beginners of all ages. We provide structured instruction to develop your sailing skills in a supportive environment.
Racing & Competition: Competitive race programs run from October to May each year. Members can participate in regular racing events, with visitors welcome to join races for a modest fee ($15 for ordinary events, $30 for major events like the Barwon Safari). Your first two ordinary races are free.
Social Sailing: Beyond racing, we offer social sailing opportunities for members who prefer recreational participation without competition.
Membership Options:
- Senior: $180 annually (age 18+)
- Junior: $85 annually (under 18)
- Family: $225 annually (all family members at same address)
- Social/Associate: $28 annually (for supporters not competing in organised events)
All memberships include race activity costs, sail storage, and mooring allocation. New members pay a one-off joining fee of $70. For more information, contact Chris Drew on 0419 431 625.
