The Bloody Long Walk: Sydney East
Event location
Description
The Bloody Long Walk Sydney East is a 35km endurance event taking place on Sunday, 16 November 2025, starting at Pioneers Park, Malabar, and finishing at Hickson Road Reserve beneath the Sydney Harbour Bridge in The Rocks, Sydney.
Participants can walk, jog, or run this scenic route, enjoying stunning coastal and urban views while supporting a vital cause. The event raises essential funds for the Mito Foundation, dedicated to finding cures for mitochondrial disease (mito).
Mitochondrial disease is a severe, often life-threatening genetic disorder that impairs the body's cells from producing the energy they need to function. In Australia, one in 200 people carry genetic changes that increase their risk of developing mito, and every week, one child is born with a life-threatening form of the disease. Tragically, most children diagnosed with mitochondrial disease do not survive beyond their first five years.
By joining The Bloody Long Walk, you not only challenge yourself physically but also contribute to groundbreaking research and support for those affected by this devastating condition.
