Coastrek Sydney is a team hiking challenge along Sydney’s Eastern Beaches, with routes of 20km, 30km or 50km available. The 2027 event takes place on Friday 19 March and finishes at Coogee after starting from different points depending on the distance chosen.
Coastrek is Australia’s iconic team hiking challenge, and Sydney is where it began in 2009. The course showcases some of the city’s most spectacular coastal scenery, including harbour views, clifftop trails, rugged shoreline and well-known beaches such as Bondi, Tamarama, Bronte and Clovelly.
It is a team-based event for groups of two or more, designed for people to train together and complete the hike in one day. No prior experience is needed, and participants fundraise for Beyond Blue in support of mental health.
For 2027, the stated start points are:
- 50km: Middle Head to Coogee
- 30km: Rushcutters Bay to Coogee
- 20km: Vaucluse to Coogee
Each route is a different way to experience Sydney’s coastline, from harbour landmarks to beachside paths and coastal headlands.
